Venous congestion can be quantified through CVP, making monitoring essential for understanding and tracking hemodynamic status in HF patients\u2014currently one of the most prevalent and vulnerable groups in clinical settings\u2014and for those with renal or hepatic functional impairments. Physicians need access to reliable, non-invasive, and portable devices that accurately measure venous congestion to enable widespread monitoring for HF patients. Monitoring venous congestion, including at-home monitoring, would facilitate the customization of pharmacological therapies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Currently, CVP can only be measured in hospitals and not as frequently as needed. Cardiac catheterization, involving the insertion of a catheter into a subclavian or internal jugular vein connected to a pressure transducer, remains the clinical gold standard for CVP assessment. However, this method is risky, uncomfortable for patients, and limited to hospital settings. Non-invasive alternatives primarily consist of semiotic evaluations (i.e., physical examination based on visual assessment of neck veins) and echocardiography (measuring the diameter of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and observing IVC inspiratory collapse via ultrasound imaging). Teoresi MedTech\u2019s added value comes from decades of experience in embedded electronics, industrialized prototyping of medical device hardware and software, and managing regulatory pathways for CE marking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In building the VenCoM device, a venous congestion meter, <strong>Teoresi MedTech&#8217;s expertise enabled them to oversee the entire development cycle following European medical regulations<\/strong>, from requirement specification (system, hardware, and software) to device production and validation. Specifically, Teoresi MedTech selected the hardware components and designed electronic boards suited to the required functions, ensuring compliance with European medical standards.
