Microchip Tech Day 2024: Microchip Technology and Teoresi MedTech – Partnership for Integrated Innovation.
CorporatePartnershipOn May 13th, Teoresi MedTech, the first entity of the Teoresi Group dedicated to the Healthcare sector, hosted the Microchip Tech Day 2024 at our headquarters in Turin. This event, organized in collaboration with Microchip Technology, celebrated over ten years of partnership and created a space for the exchange of ideas and discussions on the latest innovations in the MedTech field.
The day was introduced with presentations by Valter Brasso, President & CEO, Beatrice Borgia, Chief Corporate Development Officer of Teoresi Group, and Guido Comai, Operations & Corporate Development Manager of Teoresi MedTech. This was followed by speeches from Microchip experts Irene Castro, Lorenzo Bellina, Ronny Tittoto, and Alberto Maranzana, who guided the participants on an exciting journey through the most advanced technologies used in the medical sector and beyond.
The main topics presented were Embedded Graphics solutions and Touch and Gesture Technologies, which enhance user experience and safety in medical devices and automobiles, as well as Embedded Security solutions, which ensure data protection and authenticity for cloud connectivity. Additionally, discussions included Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies, enabling devices to learn and act intelligently in the field. Lastly, the use of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and PLD (Programmable Logic Device) was addressed, which offer high computational performance for applications implemented in secure vehicles and complex spacecraft.
The demo area set up inside the conference hall generated great interest among the participants who had the opportunity to see various devices in action, including:
- IGAT (Integrated Graphics and Touch): Integrated Graphics, Touch, and Machine Learning in a single Cortex-M4F MCU for HMI development;
- Demonstration of a newly designed steering wheel to support functionalities for autonomous driving. The system includes gesture control function through graphical signals to enhance communication between the driver and the vehicle, and advanced hand position detection technology (hands-on detection);
- TensorFlow Lite-enabled AI solution for neural network training on an MPU;
- FPGA-based system for imaging (image acquisition and processing) via AI/ML Smart Vision;
- Secure IC for managing Authentication of Disposable Nebulizers for medication administration.
